Technology is no doubt prevalent in our schools and more importantly within society. As educators, we not only recognize the importance of integrating hardware and software into our curriculum, we understand that the capacity in which we can use technology in terms of programming, creation and design are the real rewards.
How apropos that members of the Clearpoint Elementary IB World School team would be making an application to LCEEQ for the John Killingbeck Scholarship/Grant. John Killingbeck started out his career in education at Cedar Park Elementary in 1956, the very same building that we occupy. His legacy carries on beyond these walls however, having climbed the ranks of the former Lakeshore School Board, ultimately becoming the Director General in 1993. Upon retirement, he continued to be a wonderful and strong presence, as a School Commissioner and served Clearpoint, once again. Having been granted this award was an honour and a privilege.
