On May 26, 2016 at 8:57 p.m. an email came through under the subject title: John Killingbeck Scholarship Program. There are times in my life when I hold my breath without actually realizing what I am doing until I exhale...this was one of those exhilarating moments.
As I scanned the content of the email from Jim Sullivan, the magical words that screamed out at me were: your submission for a study-visit scholarship has been accepted by the LCEEQ !
I made the very excited phone calls to my team of teachers with whom I applied, with very little regard to the time of day. The thrill of being given this opportunity was too overwhelming not to immediately share with those directly involved. Knowing that both Melissa and Jennifer had young children, I sent very excited text messages while my conversations with Susan and Suzanne consisted of choppy exchanges of "I can't believe it", "this is fantastic" in between shrieks of excitement!
Our journey as life-long learners would continue in a broader sense and we couldn't wait for that to happen.
